Rethinking Access Control

THE FOUNDATION OF AMERICAN ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS WAS BUILT BY SIMPLY LISTENING TO THE NEEDS OF THE CLIENTS.

Instead of “this is what we have” AACS has the attitude of “what can we do to help you”.

The AACS portals were designed by technicians for ease of maintenance, repair and inspection. With over 20 years’ experience at various manufacturers in the security access control market, we have seen every failure and heard every complaint. AACS was founded to finally address customers’ needs and requirements. We distilled client’s complaints and suggestions about other manufacturer’s portals and addressed these problems to create a superior product both in serviceability and functionality. As in with every product, AACS conducted thorough in-field testing in order to correct problems and further refine our design in order to deliver the robust and reliable AACS portal security customers have required. AACS is never content with “good enough”, it has to be better. AACS truly cares about their clients’ needs and strives to provide them with the best available in construction, parts, reliability, support and total cost of ownership. The stakes are too high to ever compromise on your building’s security. Though perfection may be out of reach, we always strive towards that ideal. Building a great product is not something we think about once every new design cycle, but something that permeates our culture, thoughts and actions every day.

As a veteran owned business, supporting American businesses and vendors is paramount. AACS portals are 100% ”Made in America”. However, we have taken that ideal and have made it part of our core DNA. For example, we chose to manufacture our portals using US steel over foreign aluminum for a long useful life, we carefully selected and bought the highest quality components and subassemblies from American manufacturers, we designed our portals using American engineers, we assemble portals in our factory in West Virginia, and our technicians are highly trained Americans. This philosophy extends even to our web design firm and outside consultants.

Determining the true cost of ownership can be a challenging task and AACS has provided a page dedicated to just that subject. Because we believe in creating trusted relationships and long-term partnerships, we insist on doing things right and doing the right things. For example, other manufacturers just put portal components in crates and out the door they go, no testing or assembly prior to shipping. In other words, the customer pays a significant hidden cost for testing that the vendor should have paid for and included in their retail price. Is that the right thing to do? No. Is that what happens? Yes. In contrast, AACS portals are fully assembled and tested prior to shipping. Doing so eliminates common problems such as components not lining up properly during assembly on the job site or spending countless hours setting up sensors. The AACS portals require an average of two workers 1.5 days to install and place into service.

Once installed, if an unforeseen breakdown occurs, spare parts are shipped directly from our factory in West Virginia and usually arrive at your facility within 24 hours of ordering. Since the parts are US made there is no down time waiting for parts to arrive from overseas and the possible long wait for the parts to clear customs.

AACS has completely rethought and redesigned not just the portal itself but every aspect associated with its installation, repair, maintenance and even the end user experience. Now our potential clients have a clear differentiated option and an opportunity to rethink their existing access control installation and their future requirements.
